Single Genes
Single-gene screening for biomarkers can be accomplished through various sophisticated molecular techniques, including next-generation sequencing (NGS) on the Ion GeneStudio S5 Prime System (Thermo Fisher Scientific), real-time PCR on the cobas® z 480 analyzer (Roche), QuantStudio 3 Real-Time PCR System (Thermo Fisher), and Sanger conventional sequencing and size analysis on the Applied Biosystems SeqStudio genetic analyzer (Thermo Fisher Scientific). Furthermore, FISH and IHC services are provided.

These biomarkers may include:
- Predictive biomarkers associated with responses to targeted therapies include KRAS (colon, lung), NRAS (colon), EGFR (lung), BRAF (all cancers), c-KIT (GIST), PDGFRA (GIST), IDH1/IDH2 (cholangiocarcinoma), PIK3CA (breast), ESR1 (breast), EML4-ALK (lung), and other relevant biomarkers.
- Prognostic, pertaining to favorable or unfavorable prognosis for illness progression (MGMT methylation in glioma, 1p19q in glioma, N-MYC FISH in neuroblastoma, and supplementary biomarkers)
- be Diagnostic, indicating that their finding is pathognomonic for a certain cancer type (EWING Sarcoma, IDH1/IDH2 glioma, and other biomarkers)
- Concerning the metabolism of particular pharmaceuticals (DPD-5FU, UGT1A1-Irinotecan, and supplementary biomarkers)
